The biggest issue in our church at present regards the role of pastor. Adrian Dann who had been the pastor since the church started in 2002 stepped down from the role due to retirement as he reached the age of 65 in November 2011. This was done in a very orderly way with him giving us almost 18 months notice of his intention.

We now have to decide what happens then and at present things are not clear. Phil Jump who is based in Liverpool who oversees Baptist churches in the north west and North Wales who are without a pastor has been to St Asaph twice during 2011 and given us some thoughts on how we might proceed. It is likely he will visit us again, as well as attend some of our leaders meetings as we try to find God's will on the matter.

The general opinion within the church is that we should be seeking a new pastor but at present we may not have the funds to be able to do that. Adrian as a retired policeman has not drawn a salary from us during his tenure and so for us to have to pay a pastor would take us into a whole new era.

For any Christians who read this we would ask you for your prayers both for our fellowship that we might know God's will on this matter and be drawn to the right person to be our pastor and for Adrian and Chris his wife as they seek God's will as to what the next stage will be for them.
